Help! Will I be a victim of a fake check scam from this free survey site I signed up for?
I’ve been trying to find ways to earn money online. I ran into so many scams–I’m disappointed that the FTC or the BBB isn’t doing enough to take these scammers offline. Anyway, I found something that does sound legitimate. I won’t get rich right away, but I’m still skeptical. The site’s called Inboxdollars.com. I signed up for free, and get paid like 50 cents for each survey, complete free offers, read paid emails, and got a $5 sign up bonus. So far they credited a total of $9.44 to my membership account. For payment, I can request it by check in the mail (I have to make at least $30 to get a payment), no paypal account required. I’m extremely hesitant about these checks though, like I’m so scared that they’re gonna be fake. What should I do once I earned enough to get my first payment? Should I cancel my membership with them right now and shred any checks I get? Should I present these checks to my bank to find out rather or not it’s fake? How can I tell if checks are fake? If it’s a scam, I’m gonna report them asap. How can I find out if Inboxdollars is accredited with the BBB?

Can i use a National City checkcard as a credit card?
I just recieved my checkcard in the mail the other day. I just opened a new checking and savings account through national city and I can use it like a debit (a pin) which is what I thought it only allowed but they want me to sign up for national city points which is a rewards program and its free through national city but they say I have to use it like a credit card ( no pin, just sign) so my question really is even though my checkcard is a debit and it takes out money from my checking account. If I use the card as credit will it still take the money out of my checking account? I dont want a credit card that I have to pay back the only reason why I opened this account is so I could get a checkcard that takes the money out of my checking account.
By the way the card is through VISA if that helps any.
Thank you so much!

I am in the process of closing out my checking account and Im nervous. Should I be?
I banked with a very small bank for the last 8 or 9 years. I am aggrivated because they would not approve me for a home equity loan. I think it is small town bull. I am transferring everything to chase bank. I get free checking, an open end line of credit, a bank card, computer banking and the guy was really helpful. At my old bank, you could feel them being arrogant and almost snubbing when you walk thru the door. I dont know why i am so nervous. Maybe its change or am I missing something. I work full time as a nurse and I am single.
I am leaving a small balance of like $200 in my old checking until I am sure all checks and surprises have cleared.
