I went to AT&T to get it and activate it at home but they would require a credit check before doing so. So I was wondering if the Apple Store does the same.
the apple store doesn’t sell you the cell phone plan, only the device. the reason at&t requires a credit check is bc they are giving you the service before you pay for it every month. you are essentially financing your minutes. if you are only buying the device itself, a credit check is not required. go back to the store and tell the at&t rep that you have cash to pay the full price of the phone. they won’t turn you away.

Yes the Apple store does the same. You activate on iTunes.
But you can activate prepaid now on GoPhone plans.
