Yes. All of the major carriers will do a credit check.

Yes they still do a credit check and there it should show you have a job. My niece just go a phone at ATT and she is 18

Yup. Sprint does a credit check, but they don’t punish you with a high deposit. The highest they have is $300. I have horrible credit and mine was $100, so you should be fine with them. T-mobile is moving away from credit checks, you just have to pay full price for your phone.

Yes they do. They may have rate plans available for people without a credit history or they could require a deposit. The deposit return would be contingent on you fulfilling your contract term without any disconnects/suspends for non payment during the contract term.
