Is the online credit check with AT&T the same as getting a credit check in the store?

newtonsgirl88 asked:

If your credit check results say “Congratulations, we were able to set up a temporary account for you…you may be eligible for additional lines…bring this to an AT&T store sales rep to expedite your purchase..” does that mean that i passed?

And if that means i passed, will I have to pay a deposit?

It’s possible that they may have run a marketing credit inquiry and sent you a solicitation. You may not have to pay a deposit. Check with the Rep at the store and see if that may be the case. Most of the time, only people who have derogatory utility accounts with outstanding balances typically need to pay the deposit. If you are not sure and damaged credit could be a worry, there are some things you can do to get on the right track. Just visit…
