When will unemploymet show on a credit check?

When can I buy a house? asked:

I worked 7 weeks and was fired, I told my current employer I was in europe after graduation. They are doing a credit check on me. How long will it take for the unemployment to show up on my cedit check? I filed 3 weeks ago, and just recieved my first check. If I dont start working for 2 weeks should I cancel my unemployment to prevent it showing up? The accounting dept is seperate from the HR and VP that hired me.

I didn’t know that showed up on your credit report.

Yes, there is a place for employment information on your credit report.

As far as I know this information won’t be in your credit report. Sometimes you can report an employer if you so choose. I personally prefer to not report this information. Check your credit report and see what they have on file. If you choose to you can request they delete your employment information through a dispute. Name and birthdate are the only pieces of information that must be on there.

Unemployment won’t show up on your credit report. It has nothing to do with your credit history. An employer only shows up on your credit file if you fill out a credit application and the creditor reports your employer’s name.

I don’t understand what the big deal is about getting unemployment. And why it was necessary to lie about being in Europe to hide it. Now if it ever comes out that you lied about such a small thing, you could get fired.
