yes the mortgage company needs your authorization to run a credit check, but at the same time what did your boyfriend think was going to happen when he supplied your information to the mortgage company ? they are going to run a check,
my bet the mortgage company is going to claim that your boyfriend since he had all your info, and was doing this with your knowledge had quasi authorization to approve the check

absolutely unless he forged your signature…

Did you know he was applying for the loan? Did you sign the loan application?
If you did, then the mortgage company had permission to pull it.
PS: If people are going to buy a house together, they should be getting married…it’s not a moral issue, it’s a legal one…you have added rights as a spouse that you do not get as a live-in. Just remember that.

The lender must have your authorization to pull your credit. You can put a consumer statement on your credit report that says”before you process a credit application contact me directly at***-***-**** as other persons may be applying using my information”. I would also contact that lenders corporate office or lending manager to file a conplaint. Hope this helps!
