Is it possible for me to get an apartment in Michigan without a credit check?
Davena H asked:
Looking to move out of parents house, but i don’t have good credit and almost everyplace that i look into requires a credit check. I can afford to pay up to $650 a month for a two bedroom regardless of what some credit report says i need help finding my first apartment!!! ( Looking in the metro detroit area)

You have bad credit and you are still living at home? Seems premature to move out. Clean up your credit first. Life on your own is tough enough without the bad credit ball and chain around your neck.

In my experience, all major leasers will do a credit check.
I’ve rented from a mom-and-pop place, and I’m not sure if they did a check, but I know they called my references. I guess I’d try renting through a person, not a company if you’re trying to avoid a credit check.

even if they DO run a credit check and see that your credit is bad…most likely they will just make you pay more of a deposit than say someone with good credit.good luck
