How long did it take to get the tax credit check?

We sent in our amended 2008 return and the 5404 I think it was for the first time homebuyers credit. Has anyone received their check yet and how long did it take?? Does it come by regular mail? Thanks!!

Dear baby: I would count on 8-12 weeks, as the amended was mailed and this time of year everything is super slow. Regular mail is your vehicle. You can check on an amended return by calling 800-829-1040.

IRS takes 8 to 12 weeks to process amended tax return. After 8 weeks you can call IRS to find the status of your return.
